This beach, located in a little town of the same name, some 130 km SE
of Managua
city, is without a doubt, Rivas's
and perhaps the country's most visited beach. This is a great beach to
practice surfing, other aquatic sports and of course, the best option
in the country to enjoy the National Holidays.
During
the major holidays, especially in Easter, this little town becomes
so wild that it doesn't sleep as visitors not only from all over the
country, but also from different parts of the world come in and crowd
its streets and have a blast. During these holidays, many nationally
recognized discos, radiostations and other companies organize parties
along San Juan del Sur's beach and main street. These events attrack
thousands of visitors who come not only to enjoy the beach and the
sun, but also to have a nice time at these parties, which last all
night long. In my opinion, San Juan del Sur is the Nicaraguan version
of Cancún.

San
Juan del Sur is, in my opinion, the second(to
Montelimar) most visited
beach by international tourist. That could be because this town's
port became the first in the country to receive cruises. Due to the
constant flow of visitors, I think this little town has a very bright
future, as Rivas.
This bay has a reputation for being a paradise for aquatic sports
lovers, especially surfers. According to international surfers who
have tested the bay's big waves, it's one of the best place to surf
in Central America. It's also a nice place to go jet skiing, sailing
as well as finishing.
This
one is located about 20 km west of the city
of León. Las Peñitas is a very, very calm beach perfect
for those who don't like the big crowds and like to relax with almost
no one around, perhaps just the local fishermen. This beach is not known
for its big waves because its neighbor, Poneloya Beach, is the one taking
all the credit for that, but it does have some big and constant waves.
LA
FLOR & EL COCO BEACHES
La Flor is a Wildlife Refuge for the different
types of sea turtles that each year, come during the months of July-January
to lay their eggs, October being the month when most of them arrive. Nicaragua
is proud to possess 2 of the only 5 places on earth where these sea turtle
perform their yearly ritual: La Flor and Chacocente(Carazo).
It's located more or less 20 km south of San Juan del Sur.
 El
Coco Beach is located 18 km south of San Juan del Sur. It's a perfect
beach to enjoy the sun in a calm environment, enjoy white-sand beaches.
