In part II of Nicaragua's Natural Beauty, I have pictures and information about our beautiful beaches, extraordinary islands, immense lakes and rivers...check them all out.
Nicaragua counts with 305 km of Pacific Coastline and 450 on the Caribbean where all kinds of beaches are available; from dark-sand, white-sand, from virgin to wild and from wildlife refuges to resorts. *POCHOMIL Located
on Managua's Pacific Coast, this beach is the second
(to Montelimar) nearest to the capital
city at about 60 km away. It's perhaps the most visited by the Managua
people. In addition to enjoying the sun and getting a nice tan as you
relax on its dark-sand, visitors can also go horse-back riding for a low
price. Of course, a dish of fresh fish is always available.
This
is the closest beach to Managua city. It has 3 km of white-sand beaches
and a resort of the same name which is managed by the "Barceló"
hotel chain and it's considered one of the most complete and most beautiful
beach resorts in Central America.

and like San
Juan del Sur and Poneloya, it's perfect of surfers. |
